What is the purpose of this site?

To let people have fun searching for the lucky million dollar ticket!

Also it proves a new business model which is win/win/win/win: visitors win by having fun getting exposed to related products and getting the chance to win a cash prize, advertisers win by getting valuable traffic to their sites, affiliates win by making cash by referring advertisers and other affiliates to our site, we win by having fun giving away a cash prize to a lucky visitor and also showing that there are still new ways of building on the pixel advertising idea.

The name of the site is true to what we are trying to do - it's a quest for all of us.

I'm visiting - what should I do?

Click around on the grid until you find the lucky ticket. Then complete the registration form you are given, and your entry will qualify you for a chance to win $1,000,000 (US).

Are you serious? You're giving away $1,000,000?

Absolutely! We've built this site to make money for you and for us. When the meter hits the top, we'll draw one of the winning tickets and give away $1,000,000 to the winner.

If it's successful we'll do it again!

NB for anyone not believing this, we have consulted a lawyer about the concept and also we plan to use a lawyer for the drawing of the random ticket. We promise to give out the $1,000,000 when we have that allocated in the fund (see legal notice for details). We don't have the $1,000,000 now in the bank but it is our plan to sell all the ads on the site to generate the prize and give it to a lucky visitor. In the meantime we hope the traffic will be an excellent investment for our advertisers who purchase ads.

Still don't believe us? Why give out a million when you don't have to? Simply we want to repeat this model if it's successful and we also have other related business ideas coming so it's important for our reputation to do this properly.

If after one year from the start date we haven't reached the $1,000,000 in the fund, then we'll give 50% of it away.

Why is this site different?

There are many "million dollar sites" but this is the first one that truly thinks about you - the visitor. You'd like to win a million dollars, right? Then click around until you find your ticket. Oh and we have an affiliate program which is optional and free to join. If you know a few people or have a website or a mailing list then this can earn you some good income from our ad sales. As far as we know, no other ad site like this has an affiliate program.

I'm an advertiser - how can I profit from this?

Easy - buy some blocks of advertising so that you get traffic to your site. We are selling ad space for just $1.99 per pixel and minimum $199 per 10x10 pixel block.

People that visit our site are interested in having fun and winning money. The best advertisers will have products that fit this audience, however we have a wide audience and expect any advertisers with cool products and services to benefit from ad space on this site.

This is not pay-per-click so once you buy an ad the clicks are free and there is no limit. You will get clicks as people hunt around for the tickets. The sooner you buy ads and the larger the ads, the more clicks you will get. Traffic stats will be posted but you should buy ad space now to maximize your investment.

No problem - just join our affiliate program and we'll pay you 20% for all ad sales you refer to us. You'll get unique text links and banners which you can put in your news letter.

How do you choose the winning ticket?

We have an authorized notary who will independently select a ticket at random from all the registered ticket holders. The winner will be contacted by email. The winning email will not be sent until we announce it on this site, so don't bother spamming the world with your "you won!" email spam. Once the draw is announced on the site the winner will then be notified, and asked to call us with a code we emailed them, and we will publish the winner on the site.

Can I enter more than once?

You are limited to a maximum of 3 entries per day. This limit might go up or down.

Can I use a script to enter?

No - manual entries only please. We will void all entries that were submitted by a script or "bot". We have server-side bot detection software to track automated submissions.

What's the Money Meter?

That's the indicator for how far along we are in our quest for the million. Once we hit the limit, we'll draw a lucky winning ticket from those submitted, and give a million dollars to the first eligible winner.

Is it free to play?

Yes. You don't need to pay to play. It's free to click on the ad board as much as you like. The only thing that can be purchased is advertising on the board and this is optional. This is a totally free game to play.

If I find a ticket does it cost anything?

No - once you have found a ticket there is no cost. You just register your email address with us so we can send your unique ticket and to contact you in case you end up as the winner.

What else can I win?

We might add other side contests along the way.

How much is an ad?

Each pixel is just $1.99. We sell pixels in blocks of 10 x 10 (otherwise you'd never see the ads). So minimum ad cost is $199 for one block.

How long will my ad stay here?

The ad will remain on the site until July 2008.

Why does the home page look like a dog's breakfast?

The ads are made of one or more 10x10 pixel blocks. Advertisers pay for the space and can upload our stock pictures or their own (within reason). We let the advertisers pick where they can have their ads. There's no style or guidelines. It's a total free for all. It's a mess. Enjoy it.

What if you don't reach the $1,000,000 in time?

Then we'll give away 50% of the prize fund at that time. Remember you are not paying to play the game, but we hope to be in a position to pay the full prize total before the period is over.

How is this better than Alex Tew's Pixelotto?

1) We were first - he copied our concept after 6 months.
2) We're cheaper.
3) We offer an affiliate program rewarding people who talk about us using their affiliate link.

What are the odds of winning?

We don't know what the exact odds are by the time we have sold all the ad space - it depends on the number of tickets given out. We'll post the odds now and then as we approach the draw.

Do I need PayPal?

For advertisers we accept PayPal. For visitors who may win, we pay the smaller prizes with Paypal. You don't need a PayPal account to play but if you win we will send the prize via to the email address you provided, so you can arrange it with PayPal.

Why should I advertise here?

It's a question of return on your investment. We are being conservative with our estimates.

Conversion is expected to be average for advertisers. The people visiting this site are mainly looking for their lucky entry ticket, but they are all interested in money so if your site has to do with money or games, then you will get a percentage of the visitors to read your site.

We expect your percentage conversion to be less than PPC/Search but much better than spam levels. Even if you get as few as 10 clicks/day, that gives you approximately 600 clicks over 2 months (assuming we don't sell out and your ad space is not resold via bidding in less than 2 months). For a $5 ad that's < 1c/click. Even if you get a very conservative 1% conversion x 600, you should get 6 sales.
